Delivery and Set-up

Electrical

We do NOT do the electrical but we can refer you and help guide you in the directions that need to be done. We certainly try to coordinate with the electricians to get the spa wired and running all in the same day.

240 V, 4 wire, 50-amp breaker. For Swim Series, A9L, M8 and M9, 60-amp breaker

The X5L, X6R, A5L and STIL5 can be 120V if ordered that way

Acceptable Bases for Spas

  • Concrete pad
  • Decking (needs to hold weight of filled spa and sometimes crane is needed)
  • Pavers
  • Smart pad/deck
  • Compacted gravel
  • Vault (need to have trap doors for easy access for service and drain)

How to Drain and Bleed Air Lock

Drain valve: Turn the breaker to the spa off and unscrew the valve then pull it out from the base of the spa. You will attach a hose to the valve and let the spa drain. Once done screw the cap back on and push into spa then refill.

Bleeder valves: If a pump has an air lock and is not running jets then turn the breaker off. Take a flat head screw driver and unscrew the valves, let the water flow out until it is a steady stream, tighten valve and turn the spa on to see if the jets will work. Repeat the process until the airlock is gone.

Valve location

For Spas without bleeder valves: Turn the breaker off first, you will then need to take the front panel off. There is a clear tube coming out of the pump with a clamp on it. Loosen the clamp and pull the tube off, wait until water starts shooting out to reattach the hose. Turn the breaker on and ensure that it is working.

Valves on JetPaks

There are “on and off” valves on the bottom of each JetPak. Neck JetPaks have 2 valves, one for the whole pack and one for just the neck jets. This allows you to create the pressure you want while sharing a pump with someone else or alone. If there are not jets/pressure to a JetPak the valve might be closed.

Chemicals

What is in the starter kit:

  • Chlorine Granules: will ensure that the water is sanitized. Use after every time you use the spa and every other day. Ensure that the cover is OPEN to gas off. With an ozone system you will have a reading of no or very low chlorine and that is normal. Put 1 tbsp or 1 tsp in depending on size.
  • Shock Oxidizer: helps keep the water clear. Use once a week and when the water is cloudy. 1 tbsp normally and double the dose when water is cloudy.
  • Alkalinity Increaser: helps keep the pH in balance. Use when alkalinity appears low. Every week or every other week test to see ranges and balance according to the back of the bottle.
  • pH Increaser: use when pH appears low. When testing for alkalinity also test for pH and balance according to the back of the bottle.
  • pH Decreaser: use when either pH and/or alkalinity appear high. When testing for alkalinity and pH ensure to balance when needed according to the back of the bottle.
  • Calcium Hardness Increaser: if you have soft water then you will need this. Hot tubs love hard water and create friction in the water to create more power in the jets. Balance according to the back of the bottle, if needed.
  • Natural Mineral Stick or @Ease Mineral Cartridge: contains copper, zinc and iron to keep the chemicals in balance and the feel of the water nice. For the cartridge set it at 2 and put with @ease chlorine cartridge. Change about every 4-6 months with water change.
  • @Ease Chlorine: sanitizes the water and dispenses chlorine for you. Set the cartridge at 2 and put between ROUND filters or in the filter cage for FLAT filters. You will replace every 3-4 weeks.
  • Test Strips: use every week or every other week to test chemicals. Ensure you are looking at the expiration date because they do go bad. If you cannot get chemicals to balance, bring us a water sample and we can help you.
